Eosinophilic Esophagitis

EoE is a chronic, allergy-related condition in which a type of white blood cell (eosinophil) builds up in the esophagus, causing inflammation. This buildup of eosinophils can lead to difficulty swallowing, food getting stuck, chest or upper-belly discomfort, and (in children) feeing problems. EoE is usually driven by reactions to certain foods and is confirmed by endoscopy and biopsy.
