Angioedema

Swelling of the deeper soft tissues and skin, often around the eyes, lips, tongue, throat, hands, or genitals. Unlike typical hives, angioedema involves deeper layer and can feel tight or painful rather than itchy. Most cases of angioedema are from allergic reactions, but some are caused by certain medications or from inheritance — which are treated differently.
