Anaphylaxis

A sudden, severe, whole-body allergic reaction that can be life-threatening. It usually occurs within minutes to hours after a trigger (food, medication, or insect sting) and affects more than one part of the body at once — hives or swelling along with trouble breathing, vomiting, dizziness, or fainting. It is a medical emergency that is treated with an epinephrine injection.
